Chocolate Grasshopper Mocha with Chocolate Dipped Mint Leaves

Chocolate Grasshopper Mocha

The Grasshopper, named for its green color, gained popularity during the 1950s and 1960s throughout the American South where it became the cocktail du jour. Check out this chocolatey, mocktail version which can be served hot or cold. Versatile. Either way, it is a refreshing end to a meal or special treat in the afternoon.

Chocolate Grasshopper Mocha with Chocolate Dipped Mint Leaves
Yield: One 8 ounce drink
Active time: 5 minutes

Ingredients
2 tablespoons sweetened condensed milk with 1/2 drop of green food coloring (optional)
1/4 cup heavy cream
1/2 teaspoon mint extract
2 tablespoons AMERICAN HERITAGE® Chocolate Syrup
1/2 cup strong coffee
whipped cream
Garnish with chocolate dipped mint leaves
Directions
Spoon the chocolate syrup into an 8-ounce glass.
Slowly pour the mint milk/cream over the chocolate syrup.
Over the back of a spoon, pour the coffee slowly over the milk.
Add a dollop of whip cream and garnish with chocolate dipped mint leaves.

AMERICAN HERITAGE® Chocolate Syrup
Yield: 2 cups AMERICAN HERITAGE® Chocolate Syrup
Active time: 10 minutes
Ingredients
1 cup AMERICAN HERITAGE® Chocolate Finely Grated Drink Mix
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup sugar
1 tablespoon coconut oil
Directions
1. In a small saucepan cook the sugar in the water until melted.
2. Place the AHC Grated Drink Mix in a bowl and slowly add the sugar water, stirring till melted and smooth consistency.
3. Set aside until ready to use.

Chocolate Dipped Mint Leaves

Chocolate Grasshopper Mocha with Chocolate Dipped Mint Leaves
Yield: 18-20 Mint Leaves
Active time: 20 minutes

Ingredients
Bunch of mint leaves
1 cup AMERICAN HERITAGE® Chocolate Finely Grated Drink Mix
2 tablespoons coconut oil
Directions
1. In a small microwaveable bowl, combine chocolate and coconut oil.
2. Microwave on low till melted, stopping every 30 seconds to stir.
3. Dip clean dry mint leaves in melted chocolate. Let dry on rack or parchment paper.
