Have you heard of Skoshbox?? They are a subscription box service that provides Japanese treats and snacks for you each month! With different plans to fit your budget starting at $10, you can expect 8 – 11 great products shipped right to your door in one box plus free shipping. Each item is listed on a card with description and ingredients so you aren’t expected to read in Japanese and you can know just what you are getting. Sometimes it is fun to try to guess but it’s all right there so you don’t have to! You can also get a non-food surprise, like we did in each of our boxes, with the optional upgrade to include a Mystery Accessory Item.
We were able to check out the DEKAbox plan and received two boxes – the August and the new September. We had so much fun having a taste testing party with the 5 of us. For the most part, we enjoyed the different snacks and there are many that were new to us while some were introduced in a new way. Make sure to read on to see what was inside!
- The Original Skoshbox Plan contains sample-sized snacks and will fit in any PO Box and college dorm boxes. This is great for those new to Japanese tastes or want a sampler.
- The DEKAbox Plan contains full-sized snacks and about 1 lb. of snacks per box, optional upgrade to include a Mystery Accessory Item. Great for those familiar with Japanese flavors.
The DEKAbox is a subscription plan that includes a different assortment of larger items and DIY kits. It is NOT a larger version of the Skoshbox for those simply looking for the same contents with more volume.
You can actually sign up for BOTH box subscriptions since they each usually contain different items. You may only have 1 or 2 shipments overlap, if at all.
Skoshbox likes to keep your new box a surprise until it arrives BUT, if you would like a peek, you can check it out as well as see what the past boxes contained. Skoshbox recommends getting a few boxes to really get the feel of what they are all about.
Not only does Skoshbox provide a monthly subscription service, you can also order snacks individually from the Skoshbox Shop with free shipping on all US orders over $30!
August DEKAbox (special collaboration box with Glico)
Have you ever tried Skoshbox before? What was your favorite product included? My oldest loved the Ebeeza Shrimp Crackers. I was surprised that I wasn’t too crazy over them since I do love shrimp. They taste exactly like eating an actual shrimp, if not a stronger flavor! All of us agreed on the Caplicocot Strawberry and Chocolate candy and the Pizza Flavored Pretz. I think the most interesting snack was the Jagabee Butter Soy Sauce Crispy Fries and the Wasabi Endo Mix. Overall, we would love to continue this subscription with Skoshbox for a taste of more Japanese snacks.
