I have found THE neatest and easiest way to share gift wishlists with friends and family! It’s called Giftster and the best part is, it’s FREE! Giftster is like a private social platform for your friends and family. You create a wishlist for any occasion and you can share it with anyone. They then can see your wishlist and even shop through the links provided for each product. Once purchased, they can mark it as so and it will be removed from the list. Not ready to purchase it yet? Mark it as reserved and it will show others that it is being held by someone else to purchase at a later date.
Giftster is going to make our Holiday season so much easier. Normally, I get many requests for the wishlists of our kids. I used to copy and paste the list to each of them in private messages, texts, and emails. Then, I would have to update everyone once I was informed that an item was purchased. NO MORE! Once you make a Wishlist, you can create a Group and then send email invites to whoever you want to see the list. They follow the link provided in the email to create their own free account and access to the list. They can also create Wishlists and everyone in the Group can see them (depending on Privacy settings). This is especially great for my sister’s and parents so we all can have access to each other’s lists for all of the kids!
I am actually really excited about Giftster and have been playing around with it. I made a single wishlist for all 3 kids combined just to get a feel of what it is all about. It was kind of easy to start with since I did have some things saved on my Amazon Wish Lists. I just hopped over there, grabbed the links to each item, and added them one by one into the list. After adding a link, hit the Fetch button and it will pull up an image plus all of the info for you so you do not have to input anything else (unless you want)! I just added the child’s name at the beginning of the Description are so others would be able to tell who the item was for.
You could simply make a Wishlist for each child so it’s not confusing, which I think I will eventually do. You can also make a Child Account (or Pet, or Parent, etc.). A “child” account shows up in your group as an individual member, with their own lists and gift preferences, but under your account’s email address, and only managed by you. This would be nice for my 14 year old so she could input her own Wishlist ideas for me.
There is also a Gift Preferences Setting. Update this section with clothing & shoe sizes, Culture & Community, Hobbies & Interests, What NOT To Get Me, Shipping Address, and more! This helps others to find a gift that may not be on the list. Also, there is a Shop For Others section and it will show these preferences of anyone in your Group that has it updated! Easy Peasy!
You find the Giftster site in our Holiday Gift Guide (coming November 2015) as well as our Halloween Shopping Guide! This would be a great way to make a shopping list for your Halloween festivities!
