Simple Evaporation Experiment

*Originally posted on our homeschool blog, Benoit Academy*

M7 was learning about the different types of matterSimple Evaporation Experiment earlier this year & we conducted this easy experiment to go along with it. Somehow it got lost in the mix but I found it & wanted to share it with you all.

Simple Evaporation Experiment

  • Take a pan & spray it with water (or do like I did & get your fingers wet & flick it on the pan)

Simple Evaporation Experiment

  • Sit the pan in the sun. Being the summer still in Florida when we did this experiment, it didn’t take longer than 2 minutes!
  • Check the pan but be careful since it may be hot! What happened to the water??

M7 had fun with this so she started flicking water on everything outside to see how long it would take to evaporate. We should do this when it gets much cooler to see if there’s a difference in the speed of evaporation!
