Try The World Box Review
Discover the World Through Food
Try the World is a food subscription box delivered to you every 2 months. Each box contains 6 – 9 gourmet, international products from all around the world curated by their chefs. A different country is highlighted each month, including Paris, Tokyo, Rio and more! We were sent the Marrakesh Box from Morocco for this review and it was so neat to be able to try out foods from another country. This box included 6 food items, a card that describes each food and also a culture guide – all packaged in a beautiful box.
Try The World works with artisanal producers from around the world, and therefore each box may be a little bit different. All boxes have a curated assortment of delicious and authentic gourmet products of similar value. When opening your Try The World box, you may be pleasantly surprised to discover different local flavors than the ones I have received! The card included in your box will guide you through your culinary adventure.
Included in our Marrakesh Box:
- Preserved lemon confit (basically lemon preserves but almost has a pickle taste!)
- Ras-el-hanout Moroccan spice blend
- Sardines in Oil
- Kefta Rub – Morrocan rub & spice blend
- Culinary Argan Oil
- Harissa Sauce (smells like vinegar but tastes almost like a salsa!)
Luckily they include a card that lists each product and how it is traditionally used. I would have been lost without this since I had never heard of most of these items before! The Culture Guide is a really neat addition. It starts out by giving you an introduction to Marrakesh, the “imperial gateway to Morocco and Northern Africa”. There are also recipes, a Marrakesh music and movies playlist, an introduction to Moroccan Tea Ceremony and Culture as well as a Moroccan poem! Such a great resource for us since we homeschool and it’s a great addition to our studies.
