Allprovide Raw Dog Food

Allprovide Raw Dog Food

Our dog, Bubba, has never been fed raw dog food before. I was kind of hesitant when offered the opportunity to review a Starter Box from Allprovide but after checking out their site, I accepted. Allprovide’s fresh dog food is made from all-natural, restaurant quality ingredients. The food can be served naturally (raw) or cooked in its microwavable pouches. It is a natural, healthy alternative to highly processed, pre-packaged kibbles that are made with chemicals and byproducts.

About Allprovide

Allprovide’s dog food uses only USDA select meats and USDA grade A poultry. They blend these together with wholesome, fresh vegetables and all natural ingredients to produce balanced complete meals that meet the AAFCO guidelines for nutrition. Allprovide foods are based on the Bone and Raw food diet, but made convenient and safe. They take pride in the fact that their pet food is made in America and they only buy human grade, restaurant quality ingredients as their goal is to make the best pet foods possible.

Allprovide is based out of Norcross, Georgia where they’ve invested $2 million in a state-of-the-art, climate controlled facility. The fresh ingredients come from select Georgia farmers and farmers’ markets and all of the food is triple-tested for quality.

Our Thoughts

Our Starter box shipped quickly and came with 8 frozen 1-lb packages of food packed inside of a cooler. There were 3 different flavors, including Beef and Vegetables, Chicken and Vegetables, and Turkey and Vegetables. The only problem that I had was that there was no instructions with them. Since this was the first time feeding Bubba raw food, I wanted to make sure I was actually supposed to feed it to him raw. I know that doesn’t make sense but, from a human standpoint, we aren’t supposed to eat raw meat. Their website gives benefits and instructions for feeding Allprovide raw or cooked. I would have love to have had this printed on the packages or even on some instructions included in the box.

After reading the guidelines on their site and determining how much to feed him per day (16 oz. per day spit between 2 meals), I decided to thaw out a package in the microwave since it was still frozen. I only wanted to get the chill out of it so it wasn’t so cold for Bubba to eat it. After contacting Allprovide for instructions on how long is best, they explained that if it is already defrosted, then 1 minute would be fine to “get the chill out” and if it is still frozen, then 2 – 2 1/2 minutes. It ended up taking about 2 minutes. I measured out 8 oz and put it in his bowl. He was already ready and waiting as soon as he could smell it! I placed it on the floor and he literally gobbled it down in less than 5 seconds. YES, he loved it, but I don’t want him to be sick because he acts like someone will come along and steal his food!

The 2nd meal I decided to mush the raw food onto the bottom of the bowl and up along the sides (image below). I figured that this way would make him have to work for his food and would slow him down. I was right…he had to take the time to lick it off of the sides and bottom since it was sticking to it. I also had to hold the bowl because it was a light plastic bowl and he was pushing it all around the house while eating! Not a problem for me as long as he is eating something nutritious for him.

Overall, Bubba loved it so much and had us on a clock. He made sure that we knew it was feeding time if we forgot! We felt so much better knowing that he was getting an all-natural diet that is easier on his belly. I’m not sure we would continue to buy it on our though since it is expensive, although very worth it.
