The hubs is a hot natured guy. It’s always a battle with us over the a/c. The night is even worse. I ‘m happy with my sheet and comforter over my head while he only has a sheet draped over him. After that first night, hubs said it worked great! He loves that he can lay there feeling cool and refreshed after a long day at work. It’s soft and comfy. The coolness only lasts for about 30 minutes in the spot that you are laying on. He falls asleep FAST so he doesn’t really worry about that before falling asleep. He’s used it for about 2 weeks so far and no complaints. The only thing is that it does have a smell to it when you take it out of the package. This is normal with newly manufactured gel. The odor is not hazardous or otherwise harmful. Comfort Revolution suggests on their website:

WE RECOMMEND that you place your pillowcase in a well-ventilated area after removing all of the packaging components. Please allow up to 72 hours for the odor to completely dissipate. The Hydraluxe™ Gel is a temperature-sensitive material. Please allow 24 hours at room temperature for the surface to return to its normal feel.

In all honesty though, it didn’t take long at all for the smell to go away and it’s not really that strong. I had put it on before bed and he was sleeping on it that night. Now it looks like I need to get one for myself!
