If it is not a video game or something that needs to be plugged in, my kids have no interest in it. I was completely surprised when my 2 youngest got all excited over something as simple as a puzzle play mat! I dumped it on the floor and they let their imagination fly. This specific puzzle play mat is a HemingWeigh Kid’s Multicolored Puzzle Play Mat. It contains 36 square foot foam solid tiles and 26 border pieces. As you can see from the image above, M8 used some of the border pieces to hold up her creation. I believe it was a castle wall. The foam tiles are solid rainbow pieces without any letters, numbers, or images on it. They are thick enough to be sturdy yet cushioned enough to be soft. If pieced together as a floor mat, the mat is 36 square feet. That is a great size to lay out for babies and small children to play on. The surface is also non-slip and easy to wipe clean.

My kids have been building all sorts of creations out of it. There are plenty of pieces for each of them to do that easily. By the end of the first day, we had a castle wall and a fort. We even had a small seat to sit on to watch over the fort. The son even asked if they could make a few toy boxes out of the tiles. How creative! I have even thought about trying to mat a quick yoga/exercise mat out of some of them when we work out together as a family. The possibilities are endless! The best part is that all of these pieces come together in a zippered plastic bag. They can be stored in it when not in use.
The kids want to build a huge fort with all of the pieces later. I am curious to see how that will turn out! It doesn’t matter that this product is aimed towards younger children. It goes to show that you can’t put an age of a product! You can find this puzzle play mat at Amazon.com.
