How to Make the Perfect Cup of Coffee or Tea

Having that perfect cup of coffee or tea makes life all the better. Making that cup yourself is the best. But, it’s not just all about the brand of coffee or tea that you use or even the flavor alone. It’s also about the way that you make it and what you used. I recently got my hands on a great FP Coffee Maker French Press to review and I am in L-O-V-E with it….seriously. Not only does it make a great cup of coffee and tea, it’s also very convenient because there are no cords to plug in!

I have always heard of french presses but had never actually seen one. Many people rave over them so I knew that I had to find out for myself what all the fuss was about. I am so glad that I did! The FP Coffee Maker French Press has a glass carafe with a sturdy metal frame. You can make up to 8 cups with it and then toss in the dishwasher when you are ready to clean it. It is backed by a Lifetime Warranty so you have nothing to lose!

How to Make the Perfect Cup of Coffee or Tea

  1. How to Make the Perfect Cup of Coffee or TeaAdd your desired amount of course ground coffee or loose leaf tea (I add 1 rounded Tbsp per 8 C water but 4 Tbsp per 8 C water is suggested).
  2. Pour hot (not boiling) water over the grounds/leaves making sure to leave 1 inch of space from the top. Stir with plastic spoon.
  3. Rest the lid with plunger on top of the pot/carafe with the rod extended but do not press it down yet. Brew for at least 4 minutes.
  4. While holding the pot handle with one hand, use the other hand to gently press down on the rod. Just use the weight of your hand and press it all the way down.
  5. Pour into mug and enjoy!

I am so happy with the ease of use and clean up of this french press that I use it almost daily. I mainly use it more for the loose leaf tea ONLY because it’s much easier for me to set my regular coffee pot to start my coffee automatically in the mornings. I have a few tea infusers but they seem to leave traces of leaves in the drink. With the press, you can see from the image above that there isn’t even a speck of tea leaves left behind! I also use the press with Relaxer tea that is not technically tea but is just apples pieces, cinnamon, beetroot and cashews. The brew comes out a lovely pink color and is nice and smooth.

  • I got a French Press about 2 months back… before that I used my Keurig like 5 times a day. After getting my French Press I have not used my Keurig ONCE! I only make coffee in the French Press – it tastes so much better!
