Manic Monday – Valentine’s Day

Manic Monday - Valentine's Day

Another week has passed and we made it through! It was pretty much the same as usual, except we celebrated Valentine’s Day on Sunday. It is a tradition for the hubs to buy me flowers and a box of chocolate as well as a stuffed animal or small gift and boxes of chocolates for the nerdlings. The hubs got lucky this year since I gave him a Bluetooth headset that he has been asking for. This isn’t normal for us to do so he was completely surprised.

We usually do not do anything else beyond that and so it was a lazy day at home until I made homemade lasagna for dinner. Nothing says I Love You more than a nice home cooked meal, right?! It wasn’t really planned but we had the ingredients on hand so I went with it. Needless to say, everyone was pretty excited when they found out!

During the week I received two Star Wars themed bouquets from ThinkGeek (Droids and Darth Vader) for a review that is coming up. I don’t think I need to go into detail about the excitement in this house. You can read that full review coming up this week AND enter a giveaway to win your own!

  • Work on decluttering routine. (This has fallen through the cracks besides the kitchen!)
  • Brainstorm some blog posts. Keep an eye out for the new ThinkGeek post!
  • The usual homeschool lessons – Time4Learning
  • Get back into laundry routine. (Hubs was off today and did a load for me before I even woke up!)

  • Nothing too exciting on our end except for last week going to the airplane restaurant which we shared on our blog yesterday. I also got chocolate and a beautiful card yesterday from hubby which was totally unexpected since we don’t celebrate Valentines Day. We focus more on birthdays and Christmas. Now I feel bad because I didn’t get him anything. It’s not too late for me to run and get a card however. 🙂

  • We were in DE (we live in MA) for our oldest daughter’s specialist appointments… and I forgot Sunday was Valentine’s Day, so we had a minicelebration, but mostly just enjoyed being with my parents at their home in Philly, and not having to worry about the cold and all the responsibilities waiting for us back at our own home!

  • That lasagna looks fabulous! I will have to try your recipe. And what beautiful flowers. I received flowers also for Valentines Dad and they are gorgeous and make the whole house smell like we are living in a garden.

  • Funny, my husband has been craving lasagna and since the kids were home from school yesterday, I decided to let them make it. It was so good. Your lasagna looks delicious and cheesy, yum!

    • I get that. Even though our kids are old enough, we still never take time out for date night. Glad you were able to 🙂
