Simple Exercise Equipment to Get (and STAY!) in Shape

*contains affiliate linksSimple Exercise Equipment to Get (and STAY!) in Shape

The hubs is a fitness fanatic. He is trying his hardest to get all of us on board but it just isn’t happening. Motivation can come from something as simple as the type of exercise equipment that you use. If it is something complicated or takes up it’s own room in the house then it’s more than likely NOT going to get me jumping up and down ready to use it. Also, I am not about to haul myself to the gym…ain’t happenin’. So, I’ve come up with a list of some Simple Exercise Equipment to Get (and STAY!) in Shape:

Simple Exercise Equipment to Get (and STAY!) in Shape

Doorway Pull-Up Bar

A pull up bar that attaches to the doorway is a great way to get this exercise anytime of the day. This Wacces New Heavy Duty Doorway Chin up Push up Pull up Bar for P90²x is great because it can hold up to 300 pounds when used with a sturdy door frame. There are multiple grip areas to be able to work and tone different areas of the body instead of just doing the standard pull/chin up. No need to drill it into place, it simply attaches & removes easily and fits doorways up to 36 inches wide. My kids are willing to use this but, of course, they need guidance while using it. The hubs is a little leery using it only because he has seen to many funny videos of people falling while using the bars. He weighs 229 and I do not see any movement of the doorway while he is using it. Make sure that you do have a sturdy door frame for this.

Push Up Stand Bar

When the hubs had first seen these push up bar stands, he thought there was no use in them. He had quickly changed his mind after actually using them! They make normal push ups more challenging to help improve the strength in your upper body, arms, legs and stomach. The legs have a non-skid removable base. Foam handle make it more comfortable to use and the angled handlebars help to reduce stress on your wrists. My 8 year old, who is her daddy’s shadow, enjoys using these as well! These bar stands can be easily disassembled for travel.

Exercise Ball

I will be completely honest when I say that I got this exercise ball with my 10 year old son in mind. I had read before that schools were actually using these types of balls for the kids to sit on while in class! They help them to get their wiggles out and to concentrate better on their lessons. My son has ADHD and is constantly moving. I wanted to put this theory to test while, at the same time, getting the fitness benefits for him and the rest of us. This Professional Burst Resistant Stability and Body Ball is great because it helps you to tone, sculpt, strengthen, stretch, increase flexibility, relax muscles and remove tension. All of these benefits from a BALL – who knew?! Burst resistant up to 2500 pounds! A pump is included with it and is your basic pump, it does the job. My son lives on this ball watching TV, playing Xbox and pretty much anything else he can do while on it. I can’t say if it has helped him concentrate better on his school work because we have started out summer break. We will be jumping back into it within a few weeks and I will know better then.
