Start Your Day Right with AcuRite

Start Your Day Right with AcuRite

How many times have you woke up late and had to rush around to get out of the house? Between the hubs and I, it’s happened one too many times. It puts a damper on the day and you usually end up in a bad mood. We were able to test out some new clocks from AcuRite recently to help out with this problem. With school starting now for many, this would make a great Back To School purchase!

AcuRite’s history with timekeeping goes back to 1943 with Chaney Instrument Co., their parent company. AcuRite’s line of clocks offer advanced technology and eye-pleasing design. Take a look at the two clocks that we reviewed: Atomic Clock with Dual Alarm, USB Charger and Temperature and Intelli-Time Projection Clock with Temperature and USB Charger.

Intelli-Time Projection Clock with Temperature and USB Charger

Our Thoughts: Setup was fast & simple using the easy to read instructions that were included. The time and date was automatically set as soon as I plugged it in. The projection feature is pretty nifty. Although it was too far from the ceiling to even show up on it, it shows up great on the wall. I like it to be as dark while sleeping so I just flip the clock backwards, since it was laying right next to my face on the nightstand, and project the time onto the wall so I can still see the time easily if waking up in the middle of the night. I hate not knowing what time it is at night! The backlight can be dimmed down very low but I am still sensitive to light while trying to sleep. I ended up giving this alarm clock to my oldest to use since hers was old and too hard to push the buttons anymore. She loves it and projects the time at night onto the wall.

Atomic Clock with Dual Alarm, USB Charger and Temperature

The Atomic Clock with Dual Alarm, USB Charger and Temperature automatically synchronizes to the correct time broadcast by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) for split second accuracy. It charges your phone and (thanks to the outdoor temperature and humidity sensor) keeps you informed of weather conditions.

  • Dual programmable alarms can be set for everyday use, weekdays or weekends only
  • USB charging for compatible smartphones
  • Outdoor & indoor temperature (ºF or ºC)
  • Atomic clock & calendar (month/day/day of week)
  • Automatically adjusts for Daylight Saving Time (DST)
  • Snooze button
  • Illuminated color display with dimmer
  • AC adapter-powered with battery backup in case of power failure
  • On Sale Now: $49.99

Our Thoughts: The hubs and I have this one in our bedroom. I love that you can set two different alarms since we each wake up at different times. Setup for this clock was easy as well. The time and date did not set automatically right away so I had to do it manually. The clock does have a radio-controlled signal (RCC) to adjust the correct time broadcast by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Radio Station, WWVB. When the button is set to ON, it will automatically search for the correct time and date but it can take a few hours to sync.

Wireless Temperature and Humidity Sensor

Both of these AcuRite clocks come with a Wireless Temperature and Humidity Sensor that you sit or hang outside to pick up the outdoor temperature. This info is then sent to your corresponding clock. Inside of the battery compartment on both the clock and sensor is an A-B-C switch. Make sure your clock and sensor is on the same letter choice. Since we have two clocks and sensors, I have one set on A and the 2nd set on B.

  • Measures temperature and humidity
  • Strong wireless range up to 330 feet (100 meters)
  • Transmits data every 16 seconds
  • Durable, all-weather construction – perfect for indoor or outdoor use
  • Easy installation includes integrated hanger
