Want Your Skin to Glow Overnight? Here are 8 Tips to Help You

Everyone loves beautiful skin that glows and radiates naturally. While a good night’s sleep is essential for beautiful skin, there are ways to maximize your glow with skincare treatments and hacks as your body rests. The trick to waking up to glowing skin is doing the right things before you sleep. Here are a few tips to help you.

Want Your Skin to Glow Overnight? Here are 8 Tips to Help You

Sleep with a clean face

Cleanliness is the foundation of healthy skin. During the day, your skin is exposed to various stressors that can cause dullness and inflammations, such as dust and chemicals. Before you turn in for the night, wash your skin with a cream-to-oil cleanser. Instead of using exfoliating cleansers that leave your skin dull and dry, use a cream-to-oil cleanser or an oil-based cleanser that is gentle to your skin without harming the skin’s natural barrier.

Use a toner

Before you apply anything else, such as moisturizer or serum after cleansing your face, use a toner. Applying toner allows the serums and moisturizer to penetrate deeper into your face to ensure it experiences all its goodness as you get a good night’s rest. This way, you wake up to radiant and glowing skin.

Use facial oil

Most individuals, especially those with oily skin, are always on the fence about applying facial oils. However, facial oil is vital to protecting your skin against damage and enhancing a desirable glow. After cleansing your face and applying toner, massage a few drops of essential oil to your skin with an upward circular motion. There are many options to pick from, including rosehip and almond oil or other facial serum oils.

Hydrate

Hydrating your skin is essential to leave it soft, supple, and glowing. One of the ways to make this possible is through drinking water. However, this is a daily practice to embrace at all times, not just before you sleep. Apart from drinking enough water, there are other ways to hydrate your skin and enhance a glow with the right products before bedtime. They include:

  • Applying glycerin with a few lemon drops while massaging the mixture gently into your skin. The glycerin acts as a hydrant while lemon eliminates dullness and tackles excessive pigmentation.
  • Using aloe Vera gel that’s a natural moisturizer and healer. Apply aloe Vera gel on your skin and leave it overnight to wake up with soft and glowing skin.
  • Rosewater with sandalwood and turmeric. Create a mixture of these and apply it as a face mask. Wash it off after 20 minutes and follow it up with a few splashes of rose water before bedtime.

Exfoliate

Exfoliating is one of the easiest techniques to achieve an overnight skin glow. Exfoliation removes dirt and dead skin cells that cause dull and irritable skin. After a day’s work, exfoliate with a gentle scrub to prevent sensitivity. Use your hands to massage it down your face and wash it off. In the morning, the difference will be noticeable. Apple cider vinegar is a kitchen essential that can help you achieve a skin glow without using a chemical peel or harsh scrubbers. Apple cider vinegar is ideal for any skin type and particularly for those with regular breakouts.

Wear a sheet mask

Sheet masks provide that extra source of moisture to keep your skin hydrated. Sheet masks are not only great for Instagram selfies but help your skin better retain moisture. Before applying your retinol cream, toner, and moisturizing oil for the night, layer on a sheet mask to provide extra moisture.

Avoid consuming salty foods

If you have a night leading up to a big day, for example, a wedding, avoid salty foods. Salty foods increase puffiness, especially under the eyes that cause a tired look. Although a de-puffing gel can eliminate the swelling, avoiding salty foods in the evening can save you from the worry of dealing with under-circles. With enough water in your system and less salt, you can achieve the much-needed morning glow.

Don’t forget to apply Vitamin C serum

Good old vitamin C is one of the keys to achieving glowing skin. Vitamin C acts as a super ingredient to improve your skin tone, banish dark spots, and reveal glowing skin. Before you hit the sack, apply your vitamin C serum on your face and pay attention to the eye area. An outward vitamin C massage brightens dark circles around your eyes, improves lymphatic drainage, and eliminates under-eye puffiness.

Overnight glowing skin seems far from reach to many individuals, but it is possible. With the right-before-bedtime practices, you can boost your confidence by waking up with beautiful and radiant skin. Maintain clean skin, exfoliate, hydrate, tone, and wear a sheet mask. Remember to keep away from salty foods and apply vitamin C serum.

  • Thank you for reminding us how important it is to use toner! Many women tend to neglect this. They think it is an unnecessary part of the skin-care routine.
