Unpacking

It can be fun and exciting to pack up your belongings as you are anticipating great things in your new place. What they don’t tell you is that unpacking when you get to your new place is arduous and a huge chore. You might think you would be excited when you got there. You will be, but once this is over and you realize you have a huge amount of boxes to unpack, it can seem a bit daunting.

To beat the unpacking blues you could hire a removals team to do it for you. Many companies offer to pack, transport, and unpack for you at the other end.

Declutter Over Time

You can have a lot of things in your home that you have gathered over the years. These could be meaningful things but they could also be junk that you will never need. Rather than leaving it all until the very last minute, as this can work out to be time-consuming, do it over a period of time. That way there is no pressure or extra stress on you to make sure it is tidy. However, do be aware that when you put your home on the market it will need to be sparkling with everything in its place.

It may help to pack up some of your belongings before you open up your home for viewings. You can always store these boxes in a self-storage until you move. Take a look at local storage units, some even offer the first month free storage which is handy if you are moving soon.

Booka Moving Company In Advance

If you decide to use a removals company to help you pack up and move your belongings then you should book this as soon as you have a move date. These companies get booked fast and as people move all through the year then you will want to get in as quickly as possible. Be sure to read previous reviews and testimonials from customers, this will give you an insight as to whether they are good at what they do. The last thing you want is to hire a removal company that throws your precious belongings around and breaks stuff.

Leave The Kids While Moving

Finally, we don’t mean to leave the kids when you move! We mean leaving them with relatives or close friends when the time comes to move. It may be exciting to have them running through the house choosing their bedrooms. But the reality is, they will be bored within an hour.

New houses don’t often come with wifi either as you will have to arrange to have that setup. Unless you are proactive and get it activated the day you move in. If you are unable to leave the kids with anyone, be sure they are kitted out with their tech and food to keep them quiet and out of the way.
