WinterClub – Indoor Skiing and Snowboarding In Florida!

Since I am a Florida gal, born and raised, I have to say that I haven’t really seen snow up close and personal. We did live in North Carolina for just a few years after I was born but then we moved back down to FL before I was even old enough to form any memories of snow. One year we visited PA in the Spring and was lucky enough to see a very light snowfall, but only enough to scrape up a small slushy snowball. I can’t imagine what snow feels like really when there is a ton of it, let alone all of the fun you could have in it.

Take snowboarding for instance – it looks like so much fun! Hubs was a skateboarder back in the day so I know he would love trying that out. Skiing? Forget it, I could never in a million years see myself being anywhere close where skiing is available.

Well, guess what? Thanks to WinterClub in Winter Park, FL, we can now enjoy indoor skiing and snowboarding…without traveling very far at all!

WinterClub - Indoor Skiing and Snowboarding In Florida!

WinterClub offers indoor skiing and snowboarding in Orlando, FL all year round AND is the first to do so in the US!

Indoor skiing and snowboarding are possible at WinterClub through simulators. This cutting-edge technology reproduces the sensation of going down a snow-white slope. With infinite slopes, you can learn up to 8 – 10 times faster since you won’t be waiting in lift lines, stops or interruptions. The best part? No need to bundle up for the freezing cold snow! They suggest wearing long sleeves and pants (no jeans) but some of the images I have seen show some kids wearing shorts and a t-shirt! This FL gal HATES the cold so this makes me happy being able to enjoy a snow activity without enduring the horrible cold.

  • I would love to have something like this close to where we live in the UK, we have to travel quite far if we wanted too. The boys would definitely take the lessons.

  • I live in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida which is about 4 hours away from Winter Park, but we go to Orlando two to three times a year and it isn’t too far from there so it would definitely be something we could add into our itinerary to check out.

  • There hasn’t been much snow up here this season either, so even us New Yorkers would enjoy it. So cool that you enjoy winter sports in the tropics.

  • I lived in NYC most of my life and now Colorado so have seen too much snow. I wish I could switch places with you because I would much prefer to have the sun instead. This is great though for those who would love to experience what we do but all year round. What a great idea indeed.

  • Well, I guess since you get little to no snow down there-unlike where I am (in NY) that is a great activity to try out. I wonder if after learning there you could actually transfer that skill to real slopes?

  • We frequently visit the Orlando area because we live less than 2 hours away. This would be an awesome destination to check out on our next trip!
