How To Make Exercise More Fun

Exercise is important, and if there’s one thing we’ve learned since being in lockdown it’s that it’s very easy to lose control of your health. If you’re looking to take charge of your health, exercise should play a large role in that. Of course, eating healthy and balanced meals will help you maintain a steady weight (or lose weight if needed), but exercise keeps your muscles strong and helps tone your body. However, exercise isn’t the most enjoyable of things to do for some people, and if you struggle to get motivated, check out these tips on how you can make exercising more fun.

Join a club

Try something different instead of going to the gym. Join a yoga, pilates, aqua aerobics, dancing, spinning, kickboxing, or Zumba class in your area. Not only will you have a good time, but you will also meet new people – all while exercising and strengthening your body! There are plenty of classes you could join that eventually may feel more like a social meet rather than working out! Just because you’re not running 10k on the treadmill in the gym, doesn’t mean you’re not having an efficient workout!

Document your journey

Many people have found motivation by documenting their journey either through a blog or using social media. Showing people that follow you that you’re trying to make a healthy change in your life not only promotes other people to follow suit but also gives you the encouragement to carry on through their support. Why not make things even more exciting by videoing a hike across pretty scenery using a drone-like DrDrone to share with your followers? Plus, you can look back in the future and remember your workout fondly rather than hard work!

Buy new workout gear

A common excuse and reason for not exercising is not feeling comfortable in the clothing you have to work out in. Buying new workout gear will boost your confidence and can in fact boost your workouts too. Exercise clothing these days is often made from materials that will promote sweating while supporting your muscles and joints at the same time. Plus, they come in many different designs so you’re bound to find something you like!

Pump up the volume

Exercising in silence is no fun at all, and can be demotivating. So, instead of ruining a perfect chance to get a workout in, pump up the volume with motivating music and get your heart pumping! There are loads of exercise playlists on Spotify you can use, or, simply create your own to keep you motivated while having fun!

Exercise without exercising

Did you know that 175 calories can be burned in just one hour of shopping? Alternatively, how about 191 calories for an hour of the housework? While you’ll burn more at the gym or by working out at home, there are plenty of things that won’t feel like exercise. Gardening, cleaning out your shed, blitzing your housework, or enjoying a calorie-burning spring cleaning session.
